Strikeforce: Heavy Artillery Official Results
Strikeforce: Heavy Artillery took place on Saturday, May 15, at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri.
Alistair Overeem made his return to Strikeforce after a plus-two year hiatus from the organization, and he successfully defended his heavyweight belt against challenger Brett Rogers in the main event. Overeem had his opponent moving back early on, and when the two fighters got close, Overeem tossed Rogers to the ground. He then delivered a ground-and-pound that forced the ref to step and give Overeem the TKO win.
The co-main event had Antonio Silva outstriking Andrei Arlovski for the majority of their fight. After three rounds, the judges awarded Silva with a unanimous decision. Also on the card, Ronaldo Souza used his superior grappling skills to control Joey Villasenor and nullify his attack. Souza won a unanimous decision.
