WEC 48 Conference Call Live Notes

ProMMANews.com was on the WEC 48 media conference call on Tuesday with UFC President Dana White, WEC featherweight champ Jose Aldo, number one featherweight contender Urijah Faber, WEC lightweight champ Ben Henderson, and number one lightweight contender Donald Cerrone.

6:04 p.m.: The conference call has begun.
6:05 p.m.: Dana White is introducing the four fighters on the call.
6:06 p.m.: Urijah Faber says his training has remained the same, but he focused a bit more on kickboxing.
6:07 p.m.: Jose Aldo is looking for a knockout as he always does.
6:12 p.m.: Faber believes he has the tools to defeat Mike Brown and his fight with Aldo is a whole different match-up.
6:14 p.m.: Aldo is not going overconfident into his fight and is prepared for everything.
6:16 p.m.: White admits it’s been a bad couple of weeks for MMA. He is glad that the Aldo vs. Faber fight is happening.
6:17 p.m.: White says Strikeforce doesn’t belong on CBS.
6:19 p.m.: Henderson feels his life hasn’t changed much since winning the lightweight belt.
6:21 p.m.: Aldo also feels that not much has changed in his life after attaining the featherweight title.
6:23 p.m.: White believes this fight card is Pay-Per-View worthy.
6:24 p.m.: Donald Cerrone has been working hard on his wrestling.
6:25 p.m.: Ben Henderson is training to improve his overall game.
6:29 p.m.: White says Aldo wanted the fight to be in Faber’s hometown of Sacramento.
6:31 p.m.: Faber doesn’t care where the match takes place.
6:32 p.m.: Henderson is more comfortable now with the weight cut and fighting five rounds.
6:33 p.m.: Cerrone says it would be great fighting in the lightweight division of the UFC.
6:34 p.m.: Henderson is also all for competing the UFC lightweight class.
6:40 p.m.: White doesn’t yet know when he will move the WEC lightweight division to the UFC.
6:43 p.m.: Aldo says since the WEC won’t be going to Brazil, he feels more comfortable fighting in Sacramento as it’s his third time.
6:45 p.m.: Faber believes the Pay-Per-View model has helped MMA grow.
6:46 p.m.: White reveals that the fighters on this card will be making more money than they have before.
6:47 p.m.: White says Jason “Mayhem” Miller would have never run into the Octagon after a fight and that there shouldn’t be that many people in the cage in the first place.
6:51 p.m.: Aldo is prepared for wherever the fight goes.
6:52 p.m.: Faber is willing to go as far as it takes to win the fight.
6:53 p.m.: White thanks all of the media.
6:54 p.m.: The call has ended.
