HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (April 8, 2010) — Bellator Fighting Championships’ two new Season 2 “Bellator Girls” will make their national television debut tonight during Bellator’s Season 2 kickoff event here at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

The two women, Mercedes Terrell and Monica Arteaga, both 25, were selected after an exhaustive nationwide talent search that culminated earlier this week. They will participate in each of Bellator’s 12 Season 2 events around the country, serving as Round Card girls and assisting with promotions and marketing.

Accordingly, they will also appear regularly on Bellator’s national live prime-time broadcasts on FOX Sports Net and Saturday-night highlight shows on NBC and Telemundo.

Mercedes, an Orange County, Calif., native who now lives in Las Vegas, comes to Bellator with a wealth of modeling and promotional experience over the past six years. She has five sisters and enjoys literature, history, motor sports, water sports and fashion design.

“I love MMA and Bellator is an amazing organization,” she said. “I’m looking forward to being five feet away from the cage and watching all the excitement once it starts tonight and for the rest of Season 2.”

Monica, who was born and raised in Orland Park, Ill., and now lives in Chicago, is making her professional modeling debut with Bellator. Previously, she has worked in the event planning and promotion industry. She is the middle child of seven siblings and loves cooking, reading, spending time with family and bubble baths.

“Becoming a Bellator Girl was an opportunity that I just couldn’t pass up,’ she said. “I love MMA and I love to travel so I’m just beyond excited. It’s really the chance of a lifetime.”
