Josh Barnett To Make Debut In DREAM Against Siala Siligia On March 22
Josh “The Babyface Asssassin” Barnett will be making his debut in the DREAM organization when he fights Siala “Mighty Mo” Siligia at DREAM.13, the promotion announced on Friday.
It has been over a year since Barnett (24-5) last competed in mixed martial arts. He won his last four bouts, including a second-round knockout of Pedro Rizzo at Affliction: Banned in July 2008, and a third-round submission due to strikes over Gilbert Yvel at Affliction: Day of Reckoning in January 2009.
Barnett was scheduled to fight Fedor Emelianenko at Affliction: Trilogy in August 2009, but he was pulled out of the bout by the California State Athletic Commission after testing positive for anabolic steroids during a pre-fight drug test.
Siligia (3-1) has not fought since losing his first MMA fight in December 2008 at the FieLDS Dynamite!! event. He lost by first-round submission to Semmy Shilt.
DREAM.13 takes place on March 22 at the Yokahama Arena in Yokahama, Japan. The event features a featherweight title main event between champ Bibiano Fernandes and Joachim Hansen. Also featured is KJ Noons vs. Andre “Dida” Amada in a lightweight contest.
