Nogueira Plans To Use His BJJ Skills To Defeat Velasquez

Former UFC and Pride FC heavyweight title holder Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira is world-renowned for his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu skills. Out of his 33 mixed martial arts career wins, a total of 20 have come by way of submission.

Among the long list of fighters he has submitted includes Dan Henderson, Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic, and Heath Herring.

Nogueira plans to add another competitor onto that list when he takes on the undefeated Cain Velasquez at UFC 110.

“My strategy is try to block his wrestling and do a good fight, move a lot in the ring and, when the fight goes to the ground, use a lot of jiu-jitsu,” Nogueira told Tatame. “Facing an undefeated fighter is a lot of challenge. I had won all the time and I’ll do my best to make it happen again.”

UFC 110: Nogueira vs. Velasquez is set for February 20 at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia.
