The UFC officially announced on Thursday a rematch between light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua for the main event at UFC 113, which takes place on May 8 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

The two fighters previously met at UFC 104 in October 2009. Machida successfully defended his belt with a controversial unanimous decision over Rua, hence why the rematch was made.

“The first fight between Machida and Shogun was very controversial, I think fans are very excited to see them fight again and find out who the best light heavyweight in the world is,” said UFC President Dana White.

Also, although not yet announced by the UFC, welterweights Josh Koscheck and Paul Daley will square off in the co-main event.
