Anthony Johnson Withdraws From March 21 UFC On Versus 1 Event
A knee injury has forced Anthony Johnson to withdraw from his bout against rival John Howard at UFC on Versus 1 on March 21.
The news was reported by MMA Fighting on Sunday.
The two fighters have been engaging in a heated battle of words in the lead up to their scheduled to fight. They now have to wait longer for a possible fight with one another.
Johnson (8-3) last fought in November at UFC 106, losing to Josh Koscheck by submission. Prior to the defeat, he was on a three-fight win streak, which included a forty-one second knockout over Yoshiyuki Yoshida at UFC 104 in October.
Howard (13-4) has won six consecutive fights. He most recently earned a knockout against Dennis Hallman in December at the TUF 10 Finale.
