Gilbert Yvel vs. Pat Barry Likely For UFC 115 In June
A heavyweight match between powerful strikers Gilbert Yvel and Pat Barry is likely taking place at UFC 115 on June 12.
New of the bout was reported by The Las Vegas Sun on Thursday.
Yvel (36-14-1, 1 NC), a Pride FC veteran, made his long awaited Octagon debut in January at UFC 108, where he lost to Junior Dos Santos via TKO in the first round.
His opponent Barry (5-1) is a former K-1 fighter who made the transition to mixed martial arts in 2008. He last fought at UFC 104 in October, defeating Antoni Hardonk by second-round TKO. Th victory earned him Fight of the Night and Knockout of the Night honors.
UFC 115, although not yet officially announced, will be held at the GM Place in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The event marks the UFC’s first trip to Vancouver.
