Bobby Lashley To Take On Wes Sims At Strikeforce: Miami On January 30

Bobby Lashley has finally received an opponent for Strikeforce: Miami on January 30. He will be taking on the veteran Wes Sims.

Strikeforce made the bout official on Friday.

Lashley (4-0), a former WWE and current TNA wrestler, made his mixed martial arts debut in December 2008. In his last fight, which took place at an Ultimate Chaos event in June 2009, he defeated Bob Sapp by submisson due to strikes. Lashley has made it a goal to gradually make his way up the MMA ladder and thus far has been doing well.

Making his Strikeforce debut, the outspoken Sims (22-12-1) with 2 no contests, will be looking for his fourth consecutive win. He recently competed in TUF 10, but didn’t make it past the first-round.

Strikeforce: Miami will eminate from the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida. The event is headlined by Nick Diaz vs. Marius Zaromskis for the vacant Strikeforce welterweight title, and co-headlined by a women’s lightweight title match between Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos and Marloes Coenen. Also on the card is the MMA debut of NFL legend Herschel Walker, who will battle Greg Nagy.
