Strikeforce officially announced on Tuesday that DREAM and K-1 veteran Melvin Manhoef has signed a multi-year deal with the organization.

Manhoef, at 33 years of age, holds a mixed martial arts record of 23-6-1 and a kickboxing record of 37-8. Some of his notable wins in MMA are over Mark Hunt and Kazushi Sakuraba.

From July 2007 to June 2008, he amassed five consecutive MMA victories via first-round TKO, including the aformentioned win over Sakuraba. His winning streak ended shortly after at DREAM.6 in September 2008, as he suffered a submission loss to Gegard Mousasi.

He most recently competed in MMA at DREAM.10, losing to Paulo Filho by submission.

Manhoef will likely make his debut in Strikeforce debut in early 2010.
