K.J. Noons

Strikeforce announced on Thursday it has signed former Elite XC lightweight champion K.J. Noons to a multi-fight deal.

Noons, who holds a record of 7-2, won the lightweight title by defeating Nick Diaz by TKO at Elite XC: Renegade in November 2007. He later successfully defended the belt at Elite XC: Return of the King in June 2008 by earning a TKO victory over Yves Edwards.

“I’m super excited to be a part of STRIKEFORCE and I’m looking forward to putting on great fights,” said Noons. “I always wanted to come back, but I wanted to box for a little while in order to polish my boxing skills. Now, I’m ready to jump back into the picture in MMA.”

He then added, “I feel a lot more confident with my game – my striking and everything else. I feel like I’m more complete fighter now and I’m ready to fight whoever STRIKEFORCE puts in front of me.”

Noons will be making his Strikeforce debut at a soon to be announced date.
