Wanderlei Silva vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama Likely to Take Place in Early 2010

UFC middleweight fighter Yoshihiro Akiyama announced at a UFC Undisputed 2009 video game press conference on Tuesday that he will be taking on former Pride middleweight champion Wanderlei Silva in early 2010, according to
The fight will likely take place at either UFC 110 on February 6 in Las Vegas, Nevada, or at UFC 111 on February 20 in Sydney, Australia.
Akiyama made his UFC debut this past July at UFC 100, defeating Alan Belcher by unanimous decision. He is currently on a three-fight win streak.
Silva last competed at UFC 99, losing to Rich Franklin via unanimous decision. He has lost five of his last six fights and decided to move down from light heavyweight to middleweight.
