UFC 59 - Tito Ortiz vs. Forrest Griffin

The UFC officially announced on Friday a rematch between former light heavyweight champions Tito Ortiz and Forrest Griffin for the co-main event at UFC 106 on November 21 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The two fighters first met in April 2006 at UFC 59, where Ortiz defeated Griffin by split-decision.

Ortiz was previously set to take on Mark Coleman, but an MCL injury forced the 44 year-old Coleman to pull out of the fight.

The upcoming fight against Griffin marks Ortiz’s first fight since a unanimous decision loss to Lyoto Machida at UFC 84 in May 2008.

During the long layoff, Ortiz underwent major back surgery. With his back now all healed up, he will be looking to make another run at the light heavyweight title.

Griffin is coming off a first-round knockout loss to Anderson Silva at UFC 101 in August.

Tito is going to DESTROYED. Forrest Griffin is the last dude I would want to fight if I was Tito. Off 2 losses, Forrest will be dangerous
