Kimbo Slice Talks Loss to Roy Nelson, Wants Rematch

Kimbo Slice was recently featured on Inside The Ultimate Fighter to talk about his loss to Roy Nelson in the third preliminary fight of The Ultimate Fighter 10: Heavyweights.
He said:
“I knew I wasn’t going to get knocked out, so I only had to worry about the submissions. I fought Roy with caution. I did go for the kill one time, but I knew to be careful because Roy will bait you. That’s how good he is. He’s a smart fighter. When I felt like I rocked him, I went in for the kill and that’s when I made my mistake.
The first round kind of went my way because I was real cautious. But the second round, by that time, he figured out how to get in. The first round I knew how to keep him at bay, but by that second round he knew how to play a little more of a possum and he was able to get me down to the ground. A guy like Roy, who was able to get me to the ground, that weight was hard to move. The crucifix is not my favorite position. That’s a position I would really like to know how to get out of.
I’ll beat Roy this time around. You’re only going to beat me once. If I fight anybody that beat me that one time, then that’s it. You gave your best. You didn’t beat me at my best, because now I know how you’re coming. Damn right I’ll rematch Roy.”
