The UFC announced on Monday that the scheduled UFC 106 main event heavyweight title match between champion Brock Lesnar and Shane Carwin has been postponed.

Lesnar suffered an illness that has kept him from training for almost a month, thus the reason for the postponement of the fight.

Carwin posted on his Twitter account on Monday that the fight has been rescheduled for UFC 108 on January 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The light heavyweight rematch between Tito Ortiz and Forrest Griffin has become the new main event for UFC 106, which takes place on November 21 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
