UFC President Dana White recently announced in a video posted at BJPenn.com that UFC lightweight champion BJ Penn will be defending his title against Diego Sanchez on December 12 at UFC 107 in Memphis, Tennessee.

Penn is coming off a submission win over Kenny Florian at UFC 101 this past August. He has won four of his last five fights, with the loss coming in the welterweight division against UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre.

Sanchez recently defeated Clay Guida via split decision at the Ultimate Fighter 9 Finale in June. The victory was his fourth in a row, after suffering back-to-back losses to Josh Koscheck and Jon Fitch in 2007.
