UFC President Dana White has confirmed that UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva will be defending his title against Vitor Belfort on January 2 at UFC 108 in Las Vegas, Nevada, according to the LA Times.

Silva is currently undefeated in the UFC with a record ten consecutive victories inside the Octagon. He most recently took on former UFC light heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin in August at UFC 101: Declaration in Phildelphia, Pennsylvania. Silva emerged victorious via first-round knockout.

Belfort, who is on a five-fight win streak, made his UFC return in September at UFC 103: Franklin vs. Belfort in Dallas, Texas, defeating former UFC middleweight champion Rich Franklin by first-round knockout.
