DREAM officially announced today a rubber match between DREAM lightweight champion Joachim Hansen and Shinya Aoki at DREAM.11.

The two fighters first faced off at Pride Shockwave in 2006, where Aoki defeated Hansen via gogoplata submission. They later had a rematch in the Lightweight Grand Prix Finals at DREAM.5 in 2008, where Hansen defeated Aoki via TKO to win the DREAM lightweight belt.

Hansen hasn’t fought since his win over Aoki at DREAM.5.

His opponent Aoki has compiled a 4-1 record since losing to Hansen, including a unanimous-decision win over Vitor Ribeiro this past July at DREAM.10.

DREAM.11 will also feature the finals of the Featherweight Grand Prix and “Super Hulk” tournament, along with a match for the vacant DREAM middleweight belt between Jason “Mayhem” Miller and Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza.

The event takes place on October 6 at the Yokahama Arena in Kanagawa, Japan, and airs on HDNet.
