Antonio Silva vs. Jim York and More Announced for Sengoku 10
World Victory Road announced today the addition of three bouts to its Sengoku 10 event on September 23 at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.
The three new bouts are Antonio Silva vs. Jim York, Hiroshi Izumi vs. Antz Nansen, and Makoto Takimoto vs. Jae Sun Lee.
Antonio Silva, a former Elite XC heavyweight champion, is currently riding a five-fight win streak. He last competed at Sengoku No Ran 2009 in January, where he defeated Yoshihiro Nakao via TKO due to injury. His opponent Jim York is coming off a knockout victory over James Thompson at Sengoku 7 this past March.
Hiroshi Izumi, an Olympic judo silver medalist, will take on kickboxing champion Antz Nansen, who is making his MMA debut.
Makoto Takimoto, an Olympic judo gold medalist, recently fought Sengoku 8 in May, defeating Michael Costa by first-round submission. He will square off against Jae Sun Lee, who hasn’t fought since an April 2008 first-round submission loss to Jung Hwan Cha at Spirit MC 16.
