UFC Undisputed Expanding to Nintendo Wii and Handheld Consoles

THQ announced during a first-quarter results conference call on Tuesday that it plans to deliver its UFC Undisputed video game franchise annually and eventually expand it onto the Nintendo Wii and handheld consoles.
THQ CEO and President Brian Farrell said during the conference call, “We plan to launch games based on UFC on an annual basis and to build this franchise with new technology and gameplay.”
He then added, “Next year, our UFC games will include new features and game modes as we build on the ground breaking fighting technology established this year. Over time, we plan to build our UFC franchise by expanding international sales and by developing games on new platforms such as handhelds and the Nintendo Wii.”
UFC Undisputed 2009, which was released this past May, has sold more than 2.9 million copies to date.
