Renato "Babalu" Sobral vs. Gegard Mousasi Set For Strikeforce August 15 Event

The Renato “Babalu” Sobral vs. Gegard Mousasi match-up that was scheduled to take place at Affliction: Trilogy on August 1st has been rescheduled for the Strikeforce August 15 event, due to the recent downfall of Affliction as an MMA promotion.

The match will be contested for Sobral’s Strikeforce light heavyweight championship.

Mousasi said, “I am very happy that STRIKEFORCE has resurrected this fight and that I will have the opportunity to become STRIKEFORCE world champion.”

He then added, “STRIKEFORCE is one of the world’s top promotions and I am pround to be part of their roster of world-class fighters.”
