Jake Shields Set to Fight For Interim Strikeforce Middleweight Belt in October

Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker told MMAFanHouse.com at the Carano vs. Cyborg New York City press conference that Jake Shields will be fighting for the interim Strikeforce middleweight belt in October.
Shields recently defeated Robbie Lawler via submission in a 182-pound catchweight bout at a June Strikeforce event.
Current Strikeforce middleweight champion Cung Le has not fought since winning the title from Frank Shamrock in March 2008. He has taken a break from competition to focus on his acting career.
It is not yet known who Shields will face for the interim belt, or an exact date for his fight.
